Consumers, educators and businesses all need to create videos. It might be for fun, to make a presentation, to illustrate historical scenes, make a demo video, or produce a piece of professional training. The list of use cases is endless. However, producing video can be difficult, time-consuming and expensive. And sometimes it still comes out dark and blurry, with muffled sound.

GoAnimate was created to minimize this difficulty, hassle and expense. We enable anyone and everyone to create videos quickly and easily, then share them with the world. This is more than sewing images together into a slideshow, or narrating over existing material. You can literally sit down at your computer and produce a professional-looking video from scratch – within minutes – without having to draw or operate a camera.

Our Quick Video Makers offer speed and simplicity. Even a first-timer will be finished in 2 minutes. Our Full Video Makers offer total creative control and the tools to create a richly-textured video, all with drag and drop tools. Our libraries contain tens of thousands of characters, backgrounds and props – with more being added all the time. Our Character Creators allow users to create custom characters, and our import tools allow for the integration of external audio, image, video and flash files.

This is a fun tool to create a short animated video with 2 characters. The limit is 2 minutes or 20 lines of scripting but gives you a fairly lengthy video. Users can record their own voices or use the built in ones. I like this tool a lot but there are a lot of steps in the process so something like Voki may be good as an alternative to something a bit simpler for less techy users.

This is a great app! I highly recommend Go!Animate. What I really like about this app compared to Melanie’s Voki is that you can create a 2 way conversation and the background also changes as the characters interact! So, FUN! And, like Voki you do get some options to personalize the characters but, the free version is limited. And, there are also limitations with the depth of the dialogue conversation until you upgrade. However, classroom ideas are endless with this app! I showed this to a Spanish teacher who was so excited to use it to create short skits. She loved that the students could create an actual conversation and record their voice. Also, you could use it as an introduction to class where you partner the students and create an student interview. Super for an online or hybrid environment! I actually used it to explain Classroom Community as a short overview of how you could use this to explain content while enhancing it with a digital tool. Have fun and put this one on your souvenir list! It’s a keeper!

I used this app in the storytelling students. Student interviewed a family member and first drew and then created a digital storyline to retell the the story. This was a simple way to introduce digital storytelling to my students. The app is reliable and easy to use, however, the free version only allows very short animations.

This App is really fun and easy to use. I had to use it in many of my classes from computer classes to education classes. As a Future educator, I know that i will be using this app in my classroom. It could be used many different ways. For example, it could be used as an ice breaker for the students to make a fast animation to showcase their hobbies and introduce themselves.

The only downside to this app is it is now a subscription based app that has very limited features because it’s a trial. However, like I said this one is a keeper…very good and easy to use!

This is a great app for creativity. You get to create fun animated videos which would make learning so much more interesting for students who are visual. This would be a wonderful app if you wanted to creative a lifelike story or maybe even some skits in the classroom after reading a book as a class. The only downside to this app is if you get the free version it is very limited. Also, if you aren’t super technological it might take a few times working with the app to get the full hang of it. So, plan on spending some time working with it if you’re not techie savvy like me. But, it’s totally worth it!

GoANIMATE gives you the advantage of choosing from a wide variety of tools. It allows you to create your own characters by choosing them from the templates provided or by importing your own. The D-I-Y content makes it very easy for you to use your own images and sounds and choose your own branding content. It does not matter what you choose because they all give you a result of an excellently created professional video.
