What a fun, easy app to use on the iPad. Haiku Deck allows you to easily CREATE content on the iPad. This could be shared in class or students can copy the URL and post it in a message or Learning System to share. Haiku Deck allows for creation of slides, selection of ‘context sensitive’ images such that Haiku Deck prompts you to select pictures related to the text in your slides. Typically I wouldn’t use an iPad app to create content but I can see a variety of uses for this app given it’s ease of use. Students could make a quick presentation about themselves with several key words and have Haiku Deck give them the appropriate images. Or students could quickly summarize the reading they had done prior to class with key points and images.

Haiku Deck is awesome for the visually minded. Create compelling presentations quickly and share via link or embed. The images gallery is very good and is text sensitive, i.e. it will pull images based on keywords. Additionally you can add basic charts. The themes are a bit limiting and many of the photos you have to pay for, but if you are industrious you can find great visual metaphors for each slide. You can upload your own photos as well.

Get on the road and connect key terms visually with concepts! Haiku Deck is the PERFECT app to tell concept stories contextualizing content through imagery. Once you type work it automatically offers suggested images that make meaningful connections. You can also copy presentation decks. Also, the presentation can be viewed in a drop down to see the entire deck! Yes, that means you can check it out before copying it. The best part about this is that it is device agnostic and FREE..FREE and FREE! Finally, it out powers other presentation tools. It is so easy to use either you or the students can not look like graphic design pros with just a few clicks of the button!

I choose this app because I had to use it for an assignment in a class. I at first did not know how to use this app but then once I was introduced to more of what this app can really do then I liked this app and is really easy to use. I achieved my goals by using both pictures and words in the presentation.
