What’s New for MCC Ed Tech Spring 2025

Welcome, Faculty/Staff to Spring 2025. Here’s what’s new in CTL-sponsored Educational Technology

  • Canvas will now support Discussion Checkpoints (i.e separate due dates for initial post and responses). We are waiting for this feature to be turned on. If you need any updates please contact the CTL (ctl@mesacc.edu) or Elearning team (mcconline@mesacc.edu)
  • There are two new suites of software tools connected to Canvas that will likely have forthcoming information as we learn more about what is possilble
    • Kanmigo Teacher Tools
    • Lucid

      To use either of these new features, you would need to enable them from Settings>Navigation and enable them. Khanmigo includes AI-powered tools to assist you. Lucid (Whiteboard) enables instructors and students to use a Canvas space for collaboration, note taking, and the creation of diagrams and visuals.
  • Simple Syllabus has some workflow enhancements that you will want to read about on the Intranet
