The purpose of this program is to support innovative and effective uses of mobile technology to improve teaching and learning in educational systems. Colleges and universities, are expected to not only provide technology in the classroom setting but also incorporate technology into lesson plans and curriculum.

AREAS:
The Higher Education Edition component is intended to encourage full-time faculty of institutions of higher education to redesign a required math, science, computer science course, in such a way that HP mobile technology can be integrated into the curriculum to make a positive impact on student learning. Mobile technology environments should be able to:

* Transform teaching and learning at the higher education level
* Measurably improve student achievement
* Inspire and engage faculty across and between institutions to adopt technology-enhanced instructional best-practices in their classrooms
* Foster scholarly research and publications that document the positive impact of course redesign and mobile technology

FUNDS:

* Approximately $7 million is available overall through this program.

* Approximately 44 awards, valued at more than $77,000 each.

* Each award includes a $20,000 cash award (to be used as a stipend for the Principal Investigator to work on the project).

* The remainder of the award will be in the form of technological equipment.
