Infographics are a visual way for students and faculty to creatively display complex data in a simple way.  Attend this overview session to find out what infographics are, how they can be created, and how to incorporate them into your classroom using free tools on the internet.

The Heartsaver First Aid Course teaches how to manage illness and injuries in the first few minutes until professional help arrives. Course content includes general principles and medical emergencies. Please contact EOLT at 480-731-8763 for more information.

1:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Communication Skills Bootcamp (EOLT Offering)

HRMS Course #000787, Section #0030; CTL AS Building – Room 175

Most courses in human relations, conflict management, supervision, and just getting along with others refer to basic communication skills.  This 2.5 hour course focuses exclusively on the basics necessary for all of these.  Participants will identify and practice paraphrasing, identifying feelings, clarifying, summarizing, and giving and receiving feedback. Please contact EOLT at 480-731-8763 for more information.

With Apps, the classroom is at your fingertips. Understanding which apps to use for your specific content and how to integrate them into your classroom to support learning is challenging.  Come explore how to use Apps to promote critical thinking using Blooms and Apps (iPads, web-based, etc.). Tablets not required. Sign-up for all three sessions.

Special Event Registration
Night of Innovation is an opportunity to provide an innovative and collaborative environment for staff and faculty to join forces, knowledge, and resources for the purpose of enriching the quality of instruction through the use of technology. The spirit of ONE Maricopa will help drive the ideas and projects. The first Night of Innovation kicks off with the Maker Party concept. Attendees will participate in a remix video activity and create something new to share on the internet. There will be guided instruction for those participants new to remixing content while experienced participants may form groups and start creating. Dinner (pizza) will be provided. Stay for the whole night or just a few hours.

Session Learning Objectives:

  • Upon successful completion of the workshop, you will be able to:
  • Define what it means to remix content
  • Identify classroom applications for remixed activities
  • Use web tools and resources from the internet to create a remixed video
  • Collaborate with individuals across campuses to remix a video
  • Showcase appropriate remixed on the MCLI Learning Technology webpage
  • Create guides for faculty to repeat remix projects in the classroom
