Criteria
The course intentionally sequences formative and summative assessments to monitor student learning, provide meaningful feedback, and support mastery of the learning outcomes.
Assessments are intentionally designed to be authentic, scaffolded, and aligned with the learning outcomes, providing meaningful opportunities for students to apply knowledge, demonstrate original thinking, and communicate their learning in real-world contexts.
The course provides opportunities for learners to reflect on their progress and assess their own learning throughout the course (via pre-tests, self-tests with feedback, reflective assignments, peer assessment, etc.).
Criteria for graded assignments are clearly communicated through rubrics, exemplars, or other scoring guides.
Assessment requirements (e.g., proctoring, time limits, prerequisites, minimum scores) are clearly communicated in advance to help learners prepare and manage their workload.
Learners have access to a well-designed and up-to-date gradebook in the LMS.
The course provides learners with opportunities to provide feedback on their experience with the course design, content, user experience, and technology.
